Tesco Community Champion

Hello, my name is Emma, I am the Community Champion at Tesco Rawtenstall.

I would just like to say how Rossendale Radio has given us a voice so that we can explain what we do and what charities we work with within our Community of Rossendale.

This has in turn led to these charities and organisations being able to have their own voices (if they did not do so before) by going on air to tell everyone what they do within Our Community. Rossendale Radio provides a paramount service to these charities and gives them a voice and publicity. 

Each month I get to go along and for an hour tell the Rossendale community via the airwaves all the charity work we are working on and gain support from our residents by doing so.

They always give mentions when they are doing fundraisers to help promote this. They advertise local carnivals and other events. They have also been in stores and helped with fundraising on many an occasion.

The Radio is also important for giving people company within their homes, which can be a vital role within our Community and something which can be forgotten about in the grand scheme of life.  This might not raise funds but is just as important.
