M3 Project

M3 Project are a registered, not for profit charity, founded almost 23 years ago.  M3 strive toward helping and working with young single people and teenage families.  The young people we support are normally in housing crisis. This could have stemmed from a breakdown of family relationships and becoming homeless and estranged from parents. They could be leaving care and reaching 18 but not quite ready for total independence or a young mum who has become pregnant and have either been asked to leave or its become unmanageable with parents due to overcrowding etc.  Most of referral’s come through children social care and are aged between 16 and 21, although we do receive referrals from other organisations that work with young people in housing need.

M3 staff are based in Rawtenstall at St Johns Court.

We have been invited on to Rossendale Radio on many occasions over the years and been given support to not only raise awareness of the project and the service that we can offer to young people in need. But to also appeal to people with spare rooms who may be interested in providing a room for one of young people, as well as appealing for funding to help towards covering the cost of everyday items for some of our young people in need.

Our host are paramount to the success of the M3 lodgings side of things and have accommodated 100’s of young people over the years and helped move them on to independence.

This is a very difficult task getting the word out there, but the community spirit and support of Rossendale radio has been outstanding and very much appreciated.

It has brought much needed resources and items of equipment that have been more than beneficial.

Without the support of the volunteers and opportunities that Rossendale Radio gives us there would be quite a big gap, not just for us but for lots of local people in the community .
